Revolutionary change in Rajasthan’s IT map
Gone are the days when technology
was used only to increase production. The world has moved to a new digital era
and IT has been dramatically improving quality of life in the country… it has
become a part of our culture. Heritage-rich Rajasthan is the biggest bidder
participating in the digital transformation of our economy (which also happens
to be one of the greatest in the world). Big IT firms like Infosys, Apirrio and
Genpact have been investing heavily in the state by letting people enjoy the
benefit of technology without much risk. Google has already launched Google
station and installed Wi-Fi hot spots in Jaipur Railway station. The facility
is also planned for other stations of tourist importance in the state including
Jodhpur, Ajmer, Udaipur and Bikaner.
How is the Raje government performing?
Government of Rajasthan is a
believer of Information Technology and leaves no stones unturned when it comes
to empowering startups by backing investors and mentors. Centre’s Make in India
and Skill India initiatives is shaping up beautifully with innovative schemes
like Bhamashah for availing cashless benefits to beneficiaries and setting up
of Technology Centre to assist MSME enterprises. Then there is e-Mitra, a liaison
between the government and the people that offers 40,000+ kiosks across the 33
districts for services like bill payments, banking services, application for
driving license, and digital bonafide. Raj Mahila Suraksha app is for promoting
women safety and LetZgo app provides tourist with latest information about
Ajmer and Pushkar with real-time and highly contextual content.
A shift in the employment scenario
According to 5th Annual
Employment-Unemployment Survey by Ministry of Labor and Employment, Rajasthan
ranks 11th in the list. Mineral, agriculture, textile based industries, tourism
and emerging IT sectors form the backbone of the state’s economy. The spectrum
of budding IT enabled services in the last couple of years include Call
Centers, Legal databases, Content Development, Animation, Payroll, Back Office
Operations, Revenue Accounting, Medical Transcription, Insurance Claims
Processing and Logistics Management. The state has an extraordinary pool of
talented graduates enjoying upper hand at software development, sales and
marketing, communication skills, customer support and allied services. Profiles
like Java Developers, Digital Marketing and Data Analysts are tremendous
opportunities offered by blue chips in the state.
Rajasthan IT Day
As an initiative to promote
technological advancement in the state, the Rajasthan government has been
celebrating Rajasthan IT Day on 21st March. During its maiden celebration last
year, the state government launched RajNET wide area network to connect Jaipur with
all its 9,894 gram panchayats and 183 municipal areas and strengthen
connectivity in those remote areas. RajNET was all about facilitating voice,
video and data connection and services like Bhamashah, e-Mitra and MNREGA. This
year too, the state is celebrating this day based on the theme ‘DeCoding
Rajasthan’ to support ideas and innovative minds. The event is normally
attended by senior representatives of the GOI and Rajasthan, representatives of
Startup India, Department of Information Technology & Communication, fund
investors and IT industrialists.
What is CGT and how is it revolutionizing IT changes in Rajasthan?
CG Technosoft (A unit of Matellio LLC USA) is an embedded system, telecom, mobile and web app
development company from Jodhpur that has been changing the technological
landscape of the state with its innovations. CGT happens to be one among the
handful companies in Rajasthan that offers services for Linux system software
development and application software development on Linux platform to clients
across the globe. It has been working on a plethora of unique projects like SIP/LYNC
based mobile handsets (OS porting, bootloader porting, device drivers,
middleware, application), CISCO call manager and drone services that are quite
exclusive to the state. Speaking on an international level, tradeshows are
regular occurrences that allow innovators and enthusiasts to connect with top industrial
makers of the world.
CeBIT is one such globally accepted computer tradeshow
organized by Deutsche Messe AG in Hanover, Germany that serves as a platform
for software marketers to generate new business opportunities. The event which
is ongoing at the moment is scheduled from 20th March to 24th March 2017. CGT
is participating as a flag bearer of technologies such as GIS, Artificial
Intelligence and iOT from this part of the country and is going strong at the
event. Digitization is projected in new light for small, medium and large scale
businesses to prosper.
Forming a technologically ‘royal’ tomorrow
Rajasthan is gaining prominence
in terms of intellectual capital. Many global IT firms are in the process of setting
up their innovation centers in the state. With robotics fast upgrading the way
we work, maneuverability-infused drones being able to withstand extreme
temperatures, amalgamation of IoT and wearables revolutionizing both the buyer
and seller market and VR with the ability to blur the line between the tangible
and the intangible … A Rajasthani revolution is in order!
